Kitchenette Addition: Before

The purpose of this kitchenette addition was to complete their laundry room. The kitchenette would give them the functionality they needed and add value to their basement if they ever decided to rent it out.

Before we added the kitchenette to the laundry room, we met with the homeowners to get an idea of their laundry room and how we could maximize the space. The small size made options limited, but with our extensive renovation experience, we were able to come up with viable options for the homeowners that would add the most value to their space.

It was decided that adding a small kitchenette would be most beneficial, so it was time to get to work.

The Upgrade Process

To make sure the space was used effectively and included the necessary amenities, we measured out the floor and laundry machines. In order for the laundry machines to stay functional and avoid spacing conflicts, they were moved to the wall closest to the door to open up the back wall for the kitchenette.

The kitchenette space was then designed, measured out, and built in accordance with the purpose of this renovation. The kitchenette had proper storage space, a cutout for a mini-fridge and a working sink.

A wall cupboard was also installed so the homeowners could easily store and access detergents and any other necessary items.

Kitchenette Addition: After

After adding the kitchenette to the laundry room, the homeowners now have a fully functional laundry room with proper storage space, a sink, and a mini fridge. The kitchenette was definitely necessary to complete the look and feel of the laundry room.

What used to be an empty space with only a washer and dryer is now a complete laundry room with the perfect amount of storage space and the functionality to create a stress and clutter-free laundry experience.

The laundry room now has a working kitchenette with a sink and ample storage space for the homeowners and future tenants if they decide to rent.
